https://adplondon.co.uk/portfolio/aylands-house/Aylands HouseAyland’s house is a new family dwelling located in Enfield – a unique location in the dense city fabric of London. Ayland’s House differs from it surrounding building by having a flat green roof, not the typical Sub-urban English house but it has its own unique features. As well as referencing the existing historical surroundings in materials and details, but at the same time offering a new interpretation and rejuvenation of the typology.
The design follows the same logic as the traditional town house hierarchy, in terms of plot ratio, height and depth. Whereas it follows its own path with the flat roof, mimicking the characteristic of the Modern era.
The volume is set back from the road allowing for a small front yard softening the division of public and private zones, and different levels of extrusion allow variation in the houses typologies.

https://adplondon.co.uk/portfolio/northaw-road/East NorthawThe East Northaw Project located in the sub-urban area of Cuffley, is a small residential project which works with an existing bungalow house to maximize the living space by creating a Loft conversion and a rear conversion. The project replaces the traditional Bungalow building with a modernized family property.
The concept has a holistic approach and combines the locations architectural style by mimicking the surrounding building. Each Space forms a coherent sequence of different spaces to provide a special unique living atmosphere in accordance to family’s requirements.
The Project would provide high quality views towards Cuffley landscapes front the new formed first floor levels.

The location of the building, sits next to New River. The river is an important feature to the proposal as the rear extension was shaped according to the geographical location and the site features. The rear extension works parallel to the river making it directly seen from the inside of the building. The initial designs and idea were prepared using volume studies on a site location model. Later on finalising it with the client’s views and interests.

https://adplondon.co.uk/portfolio/project-talfourd/Project TalfourdProject Talfourd is located in the South London area. The idea was to create a rear extension to increase the living space in the lower ground floor apartment. The proposal was to improve the living conditions and spaces by erection another level towards the rear of the property.
The rear extension has a flat roof which benefits from green sedum roof. Green roofs provide shade, remove heat from the air, and reduce temperatures of the roof surface and surrounding air. Using green roofs in cities or other built environments with limited vegetation can moderate the heat island effect, particularly during the day.
The purpose is to improve air quality. Vegetation on a green roof assists in reducing both gaseous pollutants and dust particles by removing a proportion of them from the immediate environment. The natural evaporation of water from the plants and soil helps to cool and humidify the air, lowering the ambient temperature.

https://adplondon.co.uk/portfolio/larmans-house/Larman’s HouseA plot in such scale and opportunity was available for us to explore. An opportunity to expand and create a new build semi detach family dwelling alongside, renovating and expanding the existing property to improve the living conditions of the future occupiers.
The site had a wide entrance boundary but limited with a triangle plot towards the rear. The shape of the site has played a dominant role in the formation of the build. The site would therefore provide additional housing to the market which currently lack family dwelling especially in the London borough of Enfield. The character has been respecting the current and surrounding buildings.

https://adplondon.co.uk/portfolio/turkey-street/Turkey StreetThe site is very well situated and its almost 200 meters from Turkey Street Station. As London economies grows and there are lots of employments opportunities, most people intent to buy properties at suburban areas which are located near to train stations.
The site is in a great location to serve mix residential accommodation for people who work locally and within the city. The size and the potential of the site has provided a unique location for a development that can benefit the society, whilst respecting the London living standards.
A single family house converted into 4x Residential units with part single and part double storey extensions and loft conversions to maximise its habitable space.

https://adplondon.co.uk/portfolio/ridge-road/Ridge RoadA view to Alexandra Palace from the developed site was the first sight that has caught our attention. The single large family dwelling required a positive contribution to the street and locality. The project has used its maximum development capacity to produce five spectacular residential accommodations with one being new build house.
The proposal does not change the design and appearance of the main building other than a new dormer and the infill side/rear extension in keeping with the existing tiles and echoing the language of the roof. The basement floor provides a new high-level window in style of the existing in order to allow light into the residential unit without impacting the security and privacy.
The three storey development with a flat green roof is below the parapet line of the adjacent building. A flat roof on the first floor has been carefully designed to ensure that the proposal does not have a detrimental impact on the street scene.
The back land development would be of high quality modern materials. London Stock Bricks is to be used at ground floor level, with a lead cladding system on the first floor. The doors and windows would be modern and Aluminum framed. The existing garage is of low quality and therefore the new proposal would contribute positively to the character of the street scene.

https://adplondon.co.uk/portfolio/kenswall-house/Kenswall HouseThe unique site comprises detached properties of varying styles and characters. There is no particular form of dwelling that predominates. The site on which we are proposed to build is presently occupied with a bungalow, and the dwellings on each site are two storey buildings.
The property and the next door neighbors are positioned back from the road with generous front garden/parking areas.
The existing building on the site is a brick bungalow constructed property in the 1950s. The proposal is re design the family dwelling by means of demolishing the existing structure and erecting a two storey building with basement. The proposal is designed within the same footprint of the existing properties. The character is to reflect the locality and the layout design to be in accordance with family’s requirements.
